Satish-Kumar (Niigata University)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-7d26bdb7224818446097f1cb3b9a8c41\">Abstract<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-9e85fb8c5222894cd195fe84e39e81d2\">Graphite is a common accessory mineral in continental crust. Graphite forms in the crust mainly through graphitization of organic carbon during metamorphism. Graphite can also form by precipitation from carbon saturated fluids. In this presentation I review the characteristics of vein type graphite and their formation mechanisms based on fluid inclusion studies and carbon isotopic compositions. Case studies from Sri Lanka and East Antarctica will be discussed.
