In December 2021 Prof. Jon Blundy (Royal Society Research Professor, University of Oxford) and prof. Simon Wallis (Shool of science, University of Tokyo) have visited Sendai and participated in a seminar and field trip organised by Tsuchiya lab.
Prof. Blundy gave a talk about volcanic activity, metals (REEs), and fluids in the Earth Crust and discussed future prospects for collaboration. Students and profs. Blundy and Tsuchiya visited the tsunami-affected area the next day.
